About
ANT Scientific 'ANTS' are a developer of Nano Unmanned Air Systems and modular sensor payloads for use within the Defence & Security sectors by UK and Allied Governments. Privately formed in 2009, ANTS recognise our constantly changing world; global conflicts, and un-predictable natural disasters continue to cause instability. Defence, Security, Intelligence and First Responders are facing increasingly straining and evolving challenges.
ANTS push the boundaries of research and development and design novel technology that enables our customers and partners to act upon the advanced intelligence our solutions can provide them.
Our History
2008
UK MOD Grand Challenge Final
The MOD Grand Challenge 2008 looked for innovative ideas and the technology to help solve challenges faced in a hostile urban environment. We provided a sub 100 gram UAS with video and C2 in the final of the nationwide competition.
2009
Video/Audio Network
Development of a video/audio mesh network. Allowed compressed and encrypted video across long distances and over challenging and evolving bandwidth constrained networks.
2010
iNAV 62gram Nano UAV
‘Out of pocket’, deployable within seconds, remotely operated Hexcopter. Enabling extra eyes and ears in demanding and hostile conditions. Very light weight and durable construction, small size and covert. Reducing user burden and maintaining discrete ISR.
2013
dstl ASUR Program
Machine Perception, Reasoning and Intelligence - An Optic Flow and Radar based sensor array for a Nano UAV. To aid in autonomous flight and intelligent object avoidance in complex urban canyons.
2016
UK CDE/DASA
Autonomous Hazardous Scene Assessment. ANTS developed a Nano Hazardous Air Vehicle Sampler. The sampler technology purpose was for taking samples of air/gas, powder and liquids that can be safely stored and recovered and then tested via analysis equipment.
2018
Fortis Nano UAS (v1)
Fotis v1 at the UK MOD Army Warfighting Experiment 'AWE 18'. The Army Warfighting Experiment has been and remains the flagship experimentation programme for the British Army.
2022
Fortis Nano UAS (v2)
Fortis v2 Nano UAS. Sub 250 weight class. Our next generation of Nano weight class drone. Indoor/Outdoor capability, payload options and flight autonomy to ease burden on the operator
